The Director of ChildsPlay Creative Arts, Joan studied voice and piano at the University of Northern Iowa before deciding to enter the unrelated field of nursing. Working as a pediatric nurse, she was insprired by the effect music had on her patients and switched to a career in Early Childhood Music in 2000. Joan keeps busy with her family of beloved humans and pets. :)

Ally has been singing and dancing since she was a baby, and is an alumnus of Music Together of Naperville/Childs Play Arts! Currently finishing her sophomore year at North Central College, Ally is studying music and media arts. She plays piano, guitar, ukulele, sings, and is a gifted songwriter as well. Ally brings her love of children and music together and will be teaching our Big Kids piano/ukulele classes. Welcome Ally!

Sheila has her Bachelor's degree in Music Therapy from Western Illinois University and has been a music therapist for the past 8 years. Sheila has experience working with children of all ages including children with special needs. She is excited to share her love for singing and instrument play with her son born in April 2015.

Rachel is mom to 3 fantastic kiddos.  She holds both bachelor's and master's degrees in music education, and has taught music at all levels, K-12, in the public schools for the past 13 years.

Amy 'Josie' Thompson is a busy mom of 3 boys. She has a Bachelors degree from Brigham Young University and has worked with children on many different levels. She has been playing the piano since she was 8 years old, has background in flute as well as the guitar. Josie is a professionally trained vocalist and has sung in numerous performing choirs. She is the choir director for her local church.

Marisa Walsh has her Bachelors Degree in Child Development from Northern Illinois University, and she previously worked as a Child Development Specialist providing home visits and play groups for children ages birth to three. Marisa has always loved music. She participated in various vocal groups in high school, played clarinet in the school band, and took piano lessons for 10 years. Marisa keeps busy with her two young boys, and we are thrilled to have her on staff!
